Elsa Leroyer fell into the melting-pot of song and jazz at an early age. As a child she sang with her mother, pianist and composer, and learnt the repertoire of film music that she loved: that of Jacques Demy…. After a few years as a teenager learning piano, she studied jazz vocals in Paris with Pierrick Hardy, Laurence Saltiel and Sarah Lazarus. At the age of 30, she discovered the richness of Brazilian music during an internship with Eduardo Lopes (instrumentalist, composer, conductor and professor at the Conservatoire de Bordeaux). She worked with him on traditional polyphony and Brazilian popular music for 10 years. At the age of 40 in Bordeaux, she currently sings in the group Soul Notes (a guitar/vocals duo playing French songs), Lokomotiv Sofia (a pop band playing French compositions by the guitarist/singer Hervé Despujols) and launched in November 2018 this tribute to Michel Legrand with Christophe Guy: the Baie des Anges group has just been born.
